Physical Therapy
Massage Therapy
Physical Therapy includes an assessment of your posture, ROM, strength, and functional mobility to address any limitations you may have due to acute or chronic pain. Physical therapy treatment at BLOOM focuses on hands-on myofascial release and exercise as indicated to address these functional impairments, decrease your pain, and optimize your quality of life! A doctor's referral is not required for an evaluation, however a referral from a qualified healthcare professional is required before any treatment is provided.
Massage therapy is manipulation of soft tissues of the body to reduce pain, muscle soreness and tension, reduce stress, increase circulation, and enhance wellness. While a traditional swedish or deep tissue massage can feel wonderful, at BLOOM we specialize in the John F. Barnes Myofascial Release Approach (MFR) to safely and gently release the myofascial restrictions in your body caused by poor posture, trauma, inflammatory responses and/or surgical procedures (scars) for lasting, authentic, and comprehensive healing to optimize your health! No doctor's referral is needed for wellness sessions.
John F. Barnes Myofascial Release
Myofascial Release (MFR) is a safe and effective hands-on technique that involves applying gentle sustained pressure into the myofascial connective tissue restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion. Each session is individualized and tailored to your unique needs, and is performed directly on skin without use of lotion or oils. MFR can help back pain, headaches, neck or shoulder pain, sports injuries, chronic pain, fibromyalgia, painful scars, and women's health issues. To learn more about the John F. Barnes approach to myofascial release visit www.myofascialrelease.com.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage
Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) involves a gentle and specialized stretching of the skin based on scientific, physiological principles that have proven to encourage lymph flow and help remove waste and toxins from the bodily tissues. MLD can greatly enhance recovery, facilitate drainage, and is part of a comprehensive plan called Combined Decongestive Therapy (CDT) to help treat lymphedema. As a Certified Lymphedema Therapist with 160 hours of training from the Dr. Vodder School, I specialize in manual lymphatic drainage, decongestive exercises, skincare and education to help you manage your lymphedema during the maintenance phase of CDT.

"In December 2019 a friend told me about Shannon, a lymphedema therapist. I've seen many therapists since my diagnosis of lymphedema in my arm in 1996. By far, she has provided the best treatment including a program to use at home. Then in 2021 she introduced me to myofascial release for pain issues throughout my body. This treatment has been very helpful with controlling my pain. Shannon is dedicated to helping people improve their lives and is very compassionate. I'm thankful she has chosen this profession. She has a special gift."

“Shannon treats her patients with respect and compassion. She has exceptional knowledge working with patients who suffer from lymphedema. I feel very blessed to have her treating me."

"The referral to Shannon by my CLT therapist was the final step I needed to regain freedom from stubborn scar tissue that was the result of surgery and subsequent infection. Shannon has a gift for releasing the fascia that had encased me as if in a strait jacket, for years. Shannon's gifted hands compliment the MLD and let me live life fully and painfree."
Insurance and Payment
In order to provide you with the highest level of individualized one-on-one care that you deserve, and spending our time on exactly what you need and not what is dictated by insurance companies, we have chosen not to contract as an in-network provider with any insurance company and do not bill your insurance directly. We can, however, provide you with a superbill you can submit to your insurance company directly for out-of-network coverage and reimbursement. All payment is required in full at the time of service. Pricing is shown in the "Book Online" or "Schedule an Appointment " links.
